Eucational Media for a Kids’ Language App (Unreleased)

Project Outline

I developed scripted video content for a children’s English learning app that was ultimately never released. The videos combined live-action and animation, using simple narratives and repetition to introduce key vocabulary.

My Input

  • Wrote scripts for a series of short learning videos, blending dialogue, repetition, and humour to support vocabulary acquisition

  • Developed a writing guide for other scriptwriters on the team, covering tone, structure, pacing, and integration of learning goals

  • Worked with production teams to ensure line delivery, timing, and visual action reinforced the script’s learning objectives

Live-Action Animation

This near-final video features Adam (a live-action character) and Gogo (an animated dragon) using colour vocabulary in a playful mini story. Gogo eats a lemon, turns yellow like a chameleon, and hides—sparking a fun colour-recognition and search game for the viewer.

Series Tone and Style

To support consistency across the series, I created a short guide for other writers outlining our best practices for writing short-form educational video scripts. It included guidance on pacing, repetition, dialogue structure, and aligning narrative moments with learning goals.

Scriptwriting

This is the full script for the above video, structured with clear stage directions and visual cues to support both language acquisition and production needs. It demonstrates how vocabulary is embedded in story and reinforced through interaction.
