Content Strategy and Design for a New Kids’ YouTube Channel

Project Outline

bekids was a new brand entering the kids’ learning space, with a need to demonstrate quality, build trust with parents, and stand out in a crowded market. We launched a YouTube channel to raise brand awareness, showcase our creative standards, and drive engagement with our newly released learning apps.

My Input

  • Shaped the content strategy and editorial direction for the YouTube channel launch

  • Wrote scripts, lyrics, and developed creative concepts for nursery rhyme and phonics song videos

  • Collaborated with the art team to refresh existing IP, providing new character profiles and creative direction

  • Worked across production stages, giving input on visuals, voiceover performance, and subtitle accuracy to ensure the final videos met editorial and learning goals

Script, Storyboard & Audio

After writing the scripts and lyrics, I collaborated with the storyboard/animatic team to ensure visual moments supported the tone and language cues. I also attended voice recording sessions, providing feedback on delivery and—when needed—recorded sample tracks to help the team align timing, tone, and intent before final recordings.

Final Result

I supported the final video release as part of an ongoing publishing schedule. My role included reviewing subtitle timing, voice clarity, and ensuring consistency between the final output and the original concept. These videos formed part of our broader brand strategy and helped establish the tone of the channel from launch.

IP Revamp

I advocated for a refresh of the company’s legacy characters to better reflect the needs of our growing international audience. Working with the art and product teams, I helped shape updated character personalities and wrote new profiles to guide style and behaviour across video content.
